Delete your MyBenzie account and data
To request deletion of your MyBenzie account and associated personal information, email help@mybenzie.com with the subject “Delete my MyBenzie account.” Include the email address associated with your account. You do not need to reinstall the app.
See Section 10, “Account and Data Deletion,” below for verification steps, processing times, and information that may be retained.

Schunot Miller, Inc., a Texas corporation operating as MyBenzie (also called “My Benzie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provides the MyBenzie.com website, the My Benzie apps for iPhone and Android, and related ordering, delivery, pickup, membership, rewards, Captain, restaurant partner, and support services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use these services or communicate with us.
This policy applies to customers, delivery recipients, Captain applicants and Captains, restaurant and merchant representatives, and other people who interact with MyBenzie. “Captains” are the people who perform deliveries through MyBenzie. The information we handle depends on the features you use and your role.
For privacy questions or requests, including account deletion without using the app, email help@mybenzie.com or call 877-223-6943 (877-2-BENZIE).
1. Information we collect
Account and contact information. We collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, customer or account identifier, delivery and billing addresses, saved delivery locations or stays, preferences, favorites, and account access or role information. Shopify provides customer sign-in and account services. Our apps use authentication tokens to maintain an authorized session.
Orders, deliveries, and payments. We collect the items and options you select, quantities, pickup and delivery locations, delivery instructions, handoff preferences, order references, order history, delivery status and timestamps, fees, tips, payment status, refunds, and membership information. Shopify, Shop Pay, and other payment services offered at checkout handle payment entry and processing. We receive the transaction and order information needed to provide the service, rather than asking you to enter a full payment card number into a native MyBenzie form.
Location information. We process pickup and delivery addresses and coordinates derived from those addresses to check service availability, estimate distance and delivery fees, display maps, plan routes, and complete deliveries. When you authorize a feature that uses your device location, we may also process your approximate or precise device location. Captain location sharing is explained in Section 2.
Captain applications and work information. If you apply to become a Captain or use Captain Mode, we collect contact information, vehicle make, model, color and year, service area, availability, application notes and consent, driver's license issuing state and expiration, insurance provider and expiration, and the license and insurance documents you choose to upload. Uploaded documents can contain a photograph, identification number, date of birth, address, and other information printed on the document. We also handle approval and renewal status, delivery offers and responses, assignments, delivery progress, completion evidence, issue reports, earnings, tips, and payout records.
Restaurant and merchant information. If you use Partner Mode or represent a business, we collect your name, contact and business information, account and restaurant associations, role and permissions, hours, availability, menu and order changes, operational messages, and records of actions taken through your account. If you authorize a supported point-of-sale or ordering integration, we process the connection identifiers, authorization information, and relevant business and order data needed to operate it.
Messages, photos, documents, and feedback. We collect information you send to MyBenzie, including support requests, order messages, delivery notes, ratings, comments, and photos or documents you submit. This includes delivery confirmation photos where that feature is used. Please provide only information needed for the request. Use the designated application upload feature for required Captain documents, and do not put payment card details or unrelated sensitive information into order notes or messages.
Memberships, rewards, referrals, and games. When you use MyBenzie+, Passport, referrals, or related features, we process account-linked membership status, benefits, points, stamps, redemptions, referral codes and qualifying activity. Cherry Catch can save game progress on your device. If you choose to submit a score while signed in, we receive the score and associated account and submission information.
Device, notification, and technical information. We and our service providers process information such as IP address, device or browser information, app version, request and error information, security events, notification preferences, and device or app-installation identifiers. Push notification registration associates a device token or identifier with the account receiving alerts. Websites and checkout pages also use cookies and similar technologies, as described below.
We obtain information directly from you, automatically through the features you use, and from Shopify, participating merchants, assigned Captains, and service providers involved in your transactions. If you provide another person's information, such as a recipient's name or delivery address, provide only what is necessary and ensure you have authority to share it.
2. Captain location sharing
When an approved Captain starts an online or active delivery session and grants location permission, MyBenzie collects and transmits device location, location accuracy, and timestamps. We use this information to match and dispatch deliveries, estimate arrival times, support navigation, monitor delivery progress and connection status, and help resolve delivery or safety issues.
During an active Captain session, location sharing may continue while the app is not visible or the screen is locked, subject to device permissions and operating-system controls. On Android, this uses a location service with an ongoing Captain notification. On iPhone, supported location sessions may continue with the system's background location indicator.
Authorized MyBenzie operations personnel can access location information for dispatch and support. Delivery tracking can make the assigned Captain's location or progress available to the relevant customer. Restaurants and merchants receive the assignment and progress information needed for pickup coordination. Location and address information may be sent to mapping and routing providers to operate those features.
Captain location sharing is associated with an authorized Captain session, rather than ordinary customer browsing. You can control access through your device's location permissions. End your Captain session to stop session-based sharing; going offline when you have no active delivery ends the need for that sharing. Pausing new offers may leave a Captain session active. Revoking location permission can prevent dispatch, navigation, or delivery tracking from working correctly. Contact MyBenzie if you need to end sharing while a delivery is still active.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Create and authenticate accounts and apply customer, Captain, partner, and staff access permissions.
- Display services, menus, availability, pricing, and delivery eligibility.
- Process orders, subscriptions, payments, tips, refunds, and benefits.
- Coordinate merchant pickup, dispatch, navigation, delivery, and order tracking.
- Review Captain applications, documents, eligibility, and renewals; administer assignments, earnings, and payouts.
- Operate restaurant and merchant tools and authorized integrations.
- Provide support, handle complaints and safety issues, and communicate about accounts and transactions.
- Operate rewards, referrals, saved preferences, and optional game features.
- Send service notifications and, where permitted and consistent with your choices, marketing communications.
- Maintain and improve reliability, investigate errors, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect accounts and services.
- Meet legal obligations, keep necessary business records, resolve disputes, and enforce applicable agreements.
Where consent is required, we request it through the relevant permission, disclosure, or consent process. You may withdraw consent as described in this policy. A privacy policy does not replace a device permission request or an in-app disclosure required for a particular feature.
4. Who receives information
Captains and participating businesses. We provide the assigned Captain and relevant merchant with the information needed to prepare, collect, deliver, and support an order. Depending on the task, this can include names, contact details, items and customizations, pickup or delivery addresses, instructions, and order status. Customers receive appropriate information about their assigned Captain and delivery progress. Information entered into delivery instructions or an order message may be seen by the people responsible for that order.
Authorized personnel. MyBenzie administrators, dispatch personnel, Hosts, and support personnel access information according to their responsibilities and permissions. Captain identity and insurance documents are restricted to authorized application and document reviewers; they are not provided to customers as part of ordinary delivery tracking.
Service providers and integrations. We use providers to operate the services, including:
- Shopify and its applicable checkout and payment services for the website, customer accounts, commerce, subscriptions, and transactions.
- Cloudflare for application hosting, backend processing, data and file storage, and access or security services.
- Google mapping, address, and routing services for maps, location searches, delivery calculations, and navigation features; Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android push notifications.
- Apple services for applicable iPhone notifications, location, maps, and system features.
- Zapiet and authorized restaurant or merchant ordering and point-of-sale integrations for menu, availability, and order coordination where connected.
- Email and support providers, including Resend for service emails, and payment or payout providers used for the relevant transaction.
These providers receive information relevant to their services. Some, including Shopify, payment services, and operating-system providers, also process information under their own privacy notices and legal responsibilities.
Legal and business purposes. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process; protect people, accounts, property, or rights; investigate fraud or safety incidents; obtain professional advice; or evaluate or complete a corporate transaction, subject to applicable protections. We may also disclose information at your direction or with your consent.
Website advertising and Shopify enhanced services are addressed in Section 5. We do not use Captain identity documents or precise Captain tracking information to personalize advertising.
5. Shopify, cookies, analytics, and advertising
Our online store and customer commerce services are powered by Shopify. Shopify processes information about visits, accounts, purchases, devices, and transactions to provide its services. Information is transferred to Shopify and relevant providers, including providers in other countries.
Where Shopify Network Intelligence or other enhanced services are enabled, Shopify can combine information from interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify to provide fraud prevention, personalization, and other enhanced features. Some website marketing and enhanced services can involve targeted advertising or data “sharing” as those terms are defined by applicable privacy laws. Their operation depends on store configuration and applicable privacy choices.
Read Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy/consumers and use Shopify's privacy portal at https://privacy.shopify.com/ to learn about its practices and exercise rights relating to Shopify's processing.
The website and checkout use cookies and similar technologies for functions such as sign-in, cart and checkout operation, preferences, security, and, where enabled, analytics and marketing. You can manage available cookie choices through the site's privacy controls and your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect functionality. Where required, nonessential processing is subject to your consent.
You can make a website data-sharing or targeted-advertising opt-out request at https://www.mybenzie.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out or by emailing help@mybenzie.com. Where applicable, Shopify's privacy controls recognize Global Privacy Control signals. A browser-based choice may need to be made on each browser or device you use. You may also contact us for assistance with an account-related request.
6. Notifications and communications
MyBenzie uses push notifications, in-app messages, and email for features such as delivery offers, restaurant orders, order progress, support messages, and account or application updates. Android push delivery uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, which processes app-installation identifiers and related technical data to deliver messages. iPhone notification services use Apple device tokens and related delivery information. Our backend associates notification registrations and preferences with the appropriate account.
You can manage supported notification preferences in the app and notification permission in your device settings. Turning notifications off can cause you to miss time-sensitive offers or updates. Your operating-system settings control how notification content appears on the lock screen and other system surfaces. Signing out or disabling notifications does not, by itself, delete your account or all provider-held technical records.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link. We may still send necessary service, transaction, security, or account-deletion communications.
7. Device permissions and local storage
Depending on the feature, the app may request location or notification permission, launch the device camera, or let you select a photo or document. Camera and file-selection features are used for content you choose to submit, such as Captain documents or delivery photos. You can control permissions in your device settings; denying a permission may limit the related feature.
The apps store information on your device to maintain a session and preferences and support features such as cart state or game progress. Signing out, clearing app storage, or uninstalling may remove local information, but does not automatically remove information already held by MyBenzie or its providers. Use the deletion process below for an account or server-held data request.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. These include encrypted connections for app-to-service transmission, authenticated access, permission controls, and restricted access to uploaded documents. We limit access according to operational responsibilities and the service being provided.
No service, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device and sign-in methods, do not share authentication codes, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. Please do not send sensitive documents through ordinary support messages when a designated secure upload feature is available.
9. Retention
We retain personal information according to its purpose, the status of your account or transaction, and applicable legal and operational requirements. The period varies by information type; not all records are removed automatically when an order ends, a Captain goes offline, or the app is uninstalled.
- Account details, saved locations, preferences, rewards, and membership records are kept to provide the account and associated services, subject to deletion requests and required retention.
- Order, payment, refund, tip, and payout records may be retained for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, payment disputes, and other legal requirements.
- Captain applications, license and insurance documents, approval records, and renewal information are retained for application review, eligibility administration, safety, claims, and applicable recordkeeping needs. Application or document removal may require staff review.
- Live Captain location supports current dispatch and delivery operations. Going offline or ending a session does not erase separate order records, delivery milestones, route-related records, or confirmation evidence already created.
- Support messages, ratings, issue reports, photos, and security or audit records may be retained to resolve requests, investigate incidents, prevent abuse, and document the outcome.
- Notification registrations and other technical records are kept as needed for the relevant service, security, and troubleshooting. Provider-held records can have separate retention and deletion processes.
When information is no longer needed for the applicable purposes and no retention requirement applies, we delete or de-identify it. We evaluate retained records when handling deletion requests and may retain limited information needed to document the request, comply with law, or prevent improper reactivation. Contact help@mybenzie.com to ask about a particular category or request its deletion.
10. Account and data deletion
You can request deletion of your MyBenzie account and associated personal information in either of these ways:
- In the app: Sign in, open Account, select Delete account, and follow the confirmation steps.
- Without the app: Email help@mybenzie.com with the subject “Delete my MyBenzie account” and identify the email address associated with your account. You can also use this address to request deletion of specific information, including a Captain application or uploaded documents.
We may verify your identity before acting on a request. Do not send a password, sign-in code, full payment card number, or identity document in the initial email. If more verification is needed, we will explain the appropriate process.
Our normal processing target is within 30 days. We will notify you if additional time is needed and permitted, such as to resolve an open order, complete a necessary review, or address a retention obligation. Submitting a request starts the process; it is not an immediate confirmation that deletion has finished. We confirm completion when processing is complete.
Deletion includes account-linked personal information that is no longer needed, such as saved addresses or stays, preferences, favorites, and account content. We coordinate relevant MyBenzie and Shopify account processing and applicable service-provider requests. Certain transaction, payout, safety, fraud-prevention, or legal records may be retained where required or permitted for the specific purpose. We explain applicable retention when responding to your request.
An account-deletion request does not automatically cancel or refund an order, resolve an unpaid Captain balance, or delete a separate Shop or Shop Pay account. Deleting the app or signing out does not cancel a MyBenzie+ membership. Use membership management or contact us about cancellation and any open transactions. We will help address outstanding activity as part of handling your request.
For a separate Shopify, Shop, or Shop Pay privacy request, visit https://privacy.shopify.com/. Requests concerning MyBenzie's services can always be sent to help@mybenzie.com.
11. Other privacy rights and choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to know about or access personal information; obtain a copy; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; withdraw consent; object to or restrict certain processing; or opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. You may also have a right to appeal a decision on your request.
Email help@mybenzie.com to exercise a right, ask for an explanation, or appeal a decision. We will evaluate the request under applicable law and may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity or an authorized agent's authority. We do not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights. Certain requests may affect services that require the information, and legal exceptions can apply. You may also complain to the relevant privacy or data-protection authority.
You can update available account information and preferences through your account, change device permissions, use the website privacy controls, and unsubscribe from marketing as described above. If we rely on consent, withdrawing it does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
12. Children
Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through services intended for adults. If you believe a child has provided personal information to MyBenzie, contact help@mybenzie.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required. Captain and other service eligibility requirements are governed by the applicable application and service terms.
13. International processing
MyBenzie is operated from the United States. Shopify and other providers may process or store information in the United States and other countries where they or their providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where required by applicable law, transfers are subject to recognized contractual or other legally required safeguards. Contact us with questions about international processing or applicable protections.
14. Third-party services and links
Our services may open third-party checkout, sign-in, maps, merchant, payment, or other pages. Those providers' privacy notices govern their independent processing. MyBenzie's policy continues to apply to the information MyBenzie handles in connection with the service. A link does not mean that we control the third party's privacy practices.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or practices change or to address legal requirements. We will post the updated policy at https://www.mybenzie.com/privacy and change the date above. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law. Contact us if you need help understanding a change.
