Cherry Fritters — Okay, no more words needed. SOLD! I’ll have dreams about these for weeks. The list of things truly “Made in Frankfort” is short, and these perfectly crafted morning treats somehow say Michigan with every bite.
The local love doesn’t stop there. You can snag a bag of beans from Leelanau Coffee, pick up a few favorites from the Cherry Hut, and—if you’re paying attention—spot a secret little box of macarons sitting on top of the donut case.
What To Order
I might sound like a broken record, but an Iced Americano is always a solid choice. This time I got a Triple Iced Americano—you know, variety.
Obviously, the Cherry Fritter was a 9.99999/10, rounded to a perfect 10/10. The Nutty Crescent, despite the nuts, was sweet, flavorful, and absolutely worth adding to the order. The Raspberry Bismarck is packed full of raspberry gloop—in the best possible way—and, of course, the standard white- or chocolate-frosted donuts are present and accounted for.
And if you’re feeding the family, the office, or just making questionable decisions for yourself, save $1 when you buy any combination of twelve donuts.
The Atmosphere
As soon as you step foot into Crescent Bakery, donuts are the fragrance of the day. Now, typically I do little to no research beforehand, so I truly thought this was going to be a French baguette-and-croissant type of place. And it is—but also, donuts.
Donuts, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and a selection of hot and cold drinks that will crush just about any craving you walked in with.
The sound of beans being freshly ground fills the room while the seemingly never-ending line reminds you that you’re definitely not the only one who knows about this place. I don’t think I saw fewer than three people waiting the entire time I was there.

Did you know the crescent moon is said to represent new beginnings? Translation—the perfect symbol for the start of every day, even more so if that day starts with a donut.
This was my first visit to Crescent Bakery. You can order online ahead of time, which I very much recommend. The line was significant right after grabbing our order, enjoyed the free WIFI for a bit and took a stroll down Main.
This is great news for Crescent Bakery.
It is worth the drive.
