300 Main Street - Pastabilities Are Handmade Here

Manhattan should be jealous. In a big city, you’d never get a table unless you truly know the owner. Perfectly positioned on the corner of Main and Third, Frankfort's Vita Bella brings incredible, fresh-made pasta right to our neighborhood. This is not something you’ll ever want to miss when you visit—and if you live here, it better be in your regular rotation for eating out.

What To Order

The two-page menu really keeps your eyes moving because, let’s face it, everything sounds perfect. Making a decision is probably the hardest part of the meal.

The Lasagna was the winner—by far, without question. Layers of fresh pasta, sauce, cheese and everything you expect from a lasagna that someone clearly spent some time making. No reason to overcomplicate this recommendation. Order it.

A very close second was the Lobster Tortelloni. Incredible softness from the fresh pasta filled with intense flavor. If the lasagna wasn't sitting across the table, we might have a different winner.

Almost forgetting the Chopped Salad, which comes dressed with something called a la Angelo. Personally, I had to ask what exactly “a la Angelo” meant. Tangy vinaigrette is probably the best way to describe it—and yes, get it. Let's just say whoever Angelo is - let them.

The Atmosphere

Reservations. Are. A. Must. Do not take that lightly unless you walk in right at opening and plan to depart ahead of their lengthy reservation queue. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by smiling, excited faces every single time. They know exactly how to let you down if they’re booked for the night. This is a compliment.

Garlic, butter, and fresh herbs are about the only things in your nose unless you grab a glass of Pinot Grigio to enjoy. The white bean purée and bread brought out at the top of the meal get your senses moving at full speed.

Service from any one of their servers feels like an upscale hotel. Rooted in their training is something incredibly simple that gets missed way too often: listening to the guest.

Flour does not stand a chance at Vita Bella to stay unflavored, unsalted, or unwanted. Fresh-made pasta is truly an art, and someone here needs to be teaching a master class on it. This is the kind of pasta you simply cannot miss when visiting the region. Make the reservation, invite your closest friends or family if you must, and pop on the nicest comfy pants you have because our vote is in.

It is worth the drive.
